Trading my Louboutins for Hunter boots

Those who knows me knows my love for shoes. Knowing there's no way I could ever bring all my shoes and dresses to Australia on the big move, I had no choice but to part with some of my shoes and dresses in a preloved sales with my girl friends. We still have the preloved account active on our IG @preloveddesignerbutbetterprice and I'm still selling my stuff occasionally on that platform.

Taking this big leap of faith was huge for us. There's a lot to gamble with. We gave up everything we have (and own) in Malaysia - for a life that's totally the opposite to the one that we had before. Will we ever be ready ? Just like parents who are thinking to have babies - most will never really be ready. You just have to take the leap of faith and do it. Sometimes, you just have to do something that's larger than yourself. Whether it's going to a hit or miss, you won't know until you try it. After all, life is the sum of all your experiences.

Back to my shoes, the preloved sale was a success. I sold heaps of my belongings - had to admit I kept a dozen or more of those that I can't bear to part with :P

Looking back at how much we've achieved over the past 7 years, we have no regrets. The journey was long and hard - but it is also very rewarding. The last 7 years also was (and still is) the era of content and SNS. A lot of my friends asked why aren't we doing contents like that on our SNS platform - it could have garnered us millions of followers. Truth is the past 7 years has nothing but a challange. It wasn't easy to manage a bare 51 acre farm without any help to start with - and in a place where we know no one. Many a times I have jokingly replied to some "Do you really expect me to put on make up, look all pretty and at the same time doing all the gardening stuff while recording it?"

That will be asking me to wear my Louboutins and Givenchy dresses with perfectly manicured nails and make-up and squatting down turning over soil and collecting manure and aerating compost.

We are just too tired to get real work done - and we are not content creators and not trying to be influencers or what not. While we do share some contents on our SNS (FB , IG), they are definitely not done professionally - and we hell yeah the struggle to get work done and pull out the handphone from the back of your pocket - to only your realise your gloves is smeared with manure and soil. And god knows how many times have I dropped my phone on that pile of manure / compost?

7 years on, we finally have some help in the farm (since development is progressing well) and the launch of this website has forced us to sit and walk down the memory lane and blog about it !

Till the next post - I'm off to stretch and fold my sourdough.

x, S .
